The whole family loved it. Some very hot days but we just stayed home and enjoyed the villa.
Positive: A beautiful property in Plaka with an amazing views overlooking Almyrida Bay in one direction, across to the white mountains in another and up into the hills. Property is fitted out to the highest standards inside and out. Beautiful large outdoor terrace area, lovely pool, spacious outdoor sitting and dining and both gas BBQ and a full hearth for a charcoal BBQ. 2 upstairs en-suite bedrooms have balconies with fantastic views. Kitchen has everything you could want - including little things, chopping boards, storage containers, tin foil, cling film etc and all utensils are top class. We loved it.
Negative: Inauspicious looking lane to get to the property but not a problem. You do need a hire car as Plaka is halfway up a hillside above Almyrida.

Immaculate, peaceful, secluded - excellent location for the exploration of Chania - ideal!
Positive: We stayed for 5 nights and couldn't find fault with this beautiful property. It was immaculate upon arrival - and the Welcome Pack was a lovely touch. The property was well-stocked with all the essentials and was comfortable throughout. All the facilities - showers, hot tub, dishwasher, BBQ, washing machine, etc - worked well, no issues.
Excellent communication from the letting agent also - responsive throughout
This is an ideal location for exploring the Chania area of the island - and is a welcome escape from the noise and busyness of the nearby coastal towns. The village itself has a good local shop and several tavernas, so is ideal if you just wanted to stay put for your break.
If you're in the market for peace, quiet, sea and mountain views - with choices of breakfasting on the balcony or by the pool; or maybe you fancy a reflective wander through the little olive grove in the peach-coloured warm mornings - then this is the spot for you.
We spent a very special 5 days here, watching the sun set over the mountains, whilst the swifts and swallows dipped and dived amongst trees. A very relaxing and beautiful stay.
Negative: Not really an issue, but this property doesn't easily appear on Google Maps - however, if you put in "plaka" into your sat nav, it'll take you to the village itself. Make sure you watch the very useful YouTube video of the drive to the property beforehand!
